In the beginning... There was an idea and an opportunity,
As part of the Blacksmith Association there was a call out for work that fitted in the title "something for the garden" I decided to make a garden gate, but one with a difference! I put together a selection of ideas and through Facebook had a poll from my customers and the result was final! a giant custard cream!
You would be amazed at how many different types of custard creams there are! but I went for my childhood favourite! Although it didn't hit me how big ti was until I did a full scale drawing!
Here are the MANY elements that had to be assembled like a giant Jigsaw! Everyone at the museum thought I was mad!
"Custard" was then put together and all was looking good! Then a thick layer of Cream paint and there you go! one giant Custard Cream! SO off it went to its exhibition! and by the end of it all the other Blacksmiths knew me as " The Custard Cream Girl" : )
Whilst Custard was at the exhibition he got filmed in the background of the BBC World Snooker Championships!!!!
LOOK middle left! : ) AMAZING!
SO then the obsession of Custards fame continued.... and I even did a presentation about him!
